Beach Walks and my Burberry Dress

Welcome to another blog post!
I live in the Scottish countryside, and although it is a burden when it comes to having things to do and the classic rainy weather (and shopping - we have the crappest shops near me), I have to admit it is a rather beautiful place. Dumfries and Galloway is a major tourist destination because it its numerous beaches and jaw dropping scenery. My family are constantly discovering new places for picnics and pathways to walk (and we've lived here for the past 11 years).  Last week, my sister, my best friend and I chose to stop being typical teenagers and go outside for some exercise and fresh air.

We walked through a little seaside village called Kippford and onto another called Rockcliffe where we chilled out on the (rocky) beach and went for a paddle. It honestly felt as if we were young again and had no stress if exams and boy troubles.

Carrying on the theme of being 6-year-olds for the day we continued walking to where we knew there were some swings hanging from a big old tree. On the way, we came across a bridge, and what is the only logical thing to do when you come across a bridge? Play Pooh Sticks of course! As I chucked my stick into the water I felt liberated and like all the stress had been lifted from me. I will say it only lasted for a few moments as I soon discovered I was the loser. My sister won and my stick was no where to be seen!

We continued our walk (which took longer than we thought because we were filled with anticipation) to our next destination; the famous swings. Again, this was just so relaxing, just swinging there listening to some Sigrid (my love) and chatting about nothing in particular. Our exam results were due the week after we went on this walk and n0t a word was said about them. We were young and care free again.

Whilst we went on this little expedition, I was wearing my beloved Burberry dress. I know that might seem a bit silly, wearing something so valuable on a walk where there is very likely to be mud, but I wore it anyway as it was one of the hottest days of the year. You will remember me mentioning this amazing Burberry dress in a few blog posts and that is because of what an amazing bargain it was.

These gorgeous striped espadrilles from Zara are to die for and have you ever seen a pair of shoes go better with a dress? They were made to be together.

I was in London for a week and chose to do some charity shop shopping. We went to a well-off part of south Croydon called Oxted so thought that it was possible I might find a fantastic deal. I walked into the first charity shop I came across and headed straight for the dress rail. Flicking through, I pulled out a lovely summer dress for £7. After inspecting it for flaws, I almost fainted. On the back of the dress, near the collar, a little label said 'Burberry'. I thought to myself; "This cant be real!". I tried it on and it just so happened to fit perfectly. We were meant to be! The lady at the till smiled when I bought it and would not give up on trying to persuade me to purchase another dress from the special designer section. Unfortunately I didn't find anything else I liked but that didn't matter, I had found the most amazing bargain.

I adore this bag from Accessorize. The yellow matches perfectly and really finishes the outfit.

Charity Shop shopping is one of my favourite things to do. You just never know what you might find. Thanks for popping over and do come and say hey on my Twitter and Instagram.
