End of Summer 2017 Trends
I love reading Vogue and what I love most about the famous fashion mag is how far ahead they are on trends. This blog post is about trends that have made an appearance for the end of this summer. It will be inspired by Vogue's fab ideas. I will be doing an Autumn/Winter 2017 trend chat really quite soon so look forward to being trend ready this Autumn! Trends are an important part of my life. I always pay attention to them and aim to purchase at least one item that falls in their categories every season. We all wish these summer days could going on forever and with these trends, it can.
The first trend is the Ruffle Skirt. I adore my skirt from Asos that I bought a month ago. It is one of my favourite pieces as it is cotton, has a non-consensus hemline (My favourite thing atm), has ruffles and is gingham. I mean really, what more could you ask for? I would love to add to my collection of Ruffle Skirts because the ruffles just add something more to an outfit that a normal A-line skirt might not. Floating and wafting around in a cotton skirt just feels amazing!
The second trend I'll be writing about is the beloved Striped Trousers. This is a trend that I love. Striped trousers make your legs go on for days and are so flattering. A good pair always cascades over the hips nicely, creating the illusion of a tiny waist. The classic black and white or cream and navy pairs are a good choice if you want a more casual, less garish look. I haven't yet bought a pair of colourful striped trousers but boy do I want some! If you know of some good ones, send them over to me asap. I bought a pair of straight trousers last Autumn from Forever 21. I love these beauties! As they have sold out I will link some alternatives for a similar price here. The fab thing about striped trousers is that they can go from being worn on a hot summer holiday to an Autumnal rainy day at home. I love items that I can wear all year round as I feel they are worth the money.
Tinted Trousers have been a big thing this summer. Throw aside your jeans and purchase a pair of these boys and you're well on your way to being on trend. Deep tones of ochre and rose are particularly in at the moment as the colours still have that summer vibe about them but are also suitable for cooler weather. I have two pairs of these tinted trousers. One mustard pair from Forever 21 and a rose pair from Asos. I simply adore how versatile they are. Paired with a graphic tee, they can be casual but, when paired with a shirt or black crop top, they can be worn for more dressy occasions.
Next I will talk about my pride and joy; Espadrilles. Espadrilles are THE most perfect thing for summer. They go with everything from light washed jeans to a gorgeous summer dress. My summer holiday suitcase isn't complete without some! There are a huge range of espadrilles to pick from, ankle-tied to embroidered, wedges or flat forms. Watching one of Megan Ellaby's YouTube videos, I came across the most wonderful pair of striped, ankle-tied espadrille wedges from Zara. I fell in love and just had purchase them. They are to die for and just so happen to go perfectly with my Burberry dress. Unfortunately they are now out of stock but I will link some other options here. I also own a white pair from New Look that I bought a while back and they go perfectly with everything and I cannot live without them on a summer holiday. I am now on the hunt for a black pair so everything in m wardrobe can go with some espadrilles!
I love me a good pair of Statement Earrings and I am so pleased to say that they are one of the trends of the summer. My favourite pair are from Asos and I absolutely love them as they don't look too dressy. Gold is something you can put with any item of clothing so this is a great option. Although I have an abundance of statement earrings, I am in desperate need of some tassel ones. These from Asos (and at a great price) fit the bill perfectly. They are a subtle colour so can be worn casually.
Embroidered Jackets aren't really something I've gotten into but they are a big trend this summer. Jackets like these turn an outfit around just like that. They dress up any old basic outfit are oh so fashionable. I do, however own a gorgeous red leather jacket with some beautiful sewn details on it. I bought this off a lovely girl on Depop. If you fancy being on trend and purchasing an embroidered jacket, I have found some amazing options from New Look and Asos.
I hope you will take something form this post and wow all your friends with how on trend you are! Thanks for popping over and do come and say hey on my Twitter and Instagram.
