AW17 Trends
Hello lovelies! It's the start of a new season so what better to do than a blog post featuring my must have, easy wear Autumn/Winter 2017 trends. I have been doing lots of research and there are endless amazing trends this season, but I have decided to whittle it down to only five. So let's get on to trend number 1!
So one of the biggest trends of the autumn/winter season has to be the colour red. To achieve the full effect of the trend to catwalk standards, it's not just your coat, just your trousers, or just your shoes. It's all or nothing, and according to many designers this season it has to be red to toe. This look can often be a bit too much on a daily basis so I'm tending to choose red as my accent colour. It is pretty easy to slip red into my wardrobe as it is my favourite colour of all time. I spice up a boring jumper and jeans combo with a red over the shoulder hand bag and a pair of red loafers. I adore how an outfit so simple can be transformed with a little accessorising! However, today I am attempting the head to toe look and am getting inspiration from the Zadig and Voltaire show:
Here's my interpretation:
Turtle neck: thrifted (similar here)
Skirt: thrifted (similar here)
Boots: New Look last year (similar here)
Bag: Asos
The 1970s are one of the most revisited decades when it comes to fashion, and they continue to influence modern style. And here they are again! The 70s are easily one of my go to eras for Style Inspiration thanks to the era’s uniqueness and freedom of expression. The 70s and their style are something to which both designers and fashion-lovers are continuously drawn. There are so many iconic styles that are still wearable today. There are too may styles to choose from in this particular trend so I have chosen to take inspiration from two catwalk shows and give you two different looks. Firstly, the Max Mara show:
My look:
Trousers: Forever 21
Crop top: New Look
Coat: La Redoute (out of stock, similar here)
Shoes: Asos
The Coach show:
Here's my look:
Flares: Forever 21
Turtle neck: Forever 21
Jacket: Thrifted (similar here)
Bag: Monsoon
The space cadet Look is in! Metallics are another huge trend this Autumn/Winter. If you wondering how to wear high shine looks, then I am here to help you. Of course, there are countless ways how to make glittering and shiny metallics look great on you, but you have to keep one thing in your mind: do not go overboard. I prefer to wear a pair of shiny shoes to add this trend into my wardrobe but like before, I am going to try and go all out in this one!
This time I'm taking inspo from the Michael Kors collection:
Here's how I styled it:
Trousers: Topshop
Shoes: Asos
Turtle neck: Forever 21
Suiting was seen everywhere this fashion month so with out a doubt I had to mention this awesome trend. what I love about suits is how effortless they are to style. Just a plain tee and some trainers and you are sorted with a look that couldn't have been easier to put together. For winter I would go with a black turtleneck and my black leather boots, or some court heels if I was after an evening look. And it goes without saying that a suit is easy peasy to make work for so many different occassions. But sometimes this look is too much for an everyday basis so I chose to only go for the blazer part. A perfect nod to the trend. Taking inspiration from the Calvin Klein show:
My look:
Blazer: Primark
Tee: Boohoo
Jeans: Topshop
Loafers: thrifted (similar here)
And finally a trend I have been loving is winter florals. Florals are no longer synonymous with the fun fabrics of summer fashion. For autumn/winter 2017, try dark, bewitching blooms for a change! I got a little bit carried away with this trend a bought two dresses in the space of a week with rather similar floral patterns (completely different fits I might add!) so I couldn't write this blog post with out mentioning one of those bad boys. I took inspo from the Isabel Marant show:
My dress:
Dress: For Love and Lemons (out of stock, similar here)
Boots: Asos
