Winter Accessories to Sass Up Your Basics

Hey people! We all have our go-to outfits: those old standbys like a great pair of worn-in jeans, or favourite top. Sometimes, though, as much as you love your favourite outfits, they just need a little something extra for this time of year! So here are 5 accessories that will surely spice up your every day look.

Tassel Earrings
Statement earrings have been doing the rounds for several seasons but now, our choice of earring has fallen firmly on a tasselled pair. A little bit arty, a little bit fun.  It's time to pull our hair back to show off this style, whether it's beaded or fabric. While tassels fit nicely into summer attire, you should wear these all winter – perhaps to put a little fun and colour into your everyday look.

The Baker Boy Cap

Yes, yes...  I know I've already mentioned this in a previous blog post. But let me tell you, i really can't get enough of this particular accessory. A baker boy cap (also known as newsboy, or fishermen hat) finishes off a look in a way that no other accessory can. It is so confident and on-trend. And now that A/W 17 is finally here, it's time to start taking advantage of the colder weather. It's a go-to for me at he moment and I strongly suggest you get your hands on one. Another super big plus to this accessory is that it is perfect for bad hair days. Just chuck it on and you’re done!

Ankle Boots

Ankle boots are a wardrobe staple for every girl in the wintertime. Ever so stylish and versatile this shoe never seems to get old. Pair with jeans and a jumper (a classic combo) or finish off any going out look with a statement pair. Add sparkles onto your look with a pair of gorgeous boots this party season.

Statement Bag
A statement bag is the perfect way to finish of your winter look. I particularly feel that red and green sass up an outfit perfectly at this time of year. A statement bag adds a pop of glitz and glamour to any outfit and draws all the attention away from your basic tee and black jeans. I honestly couldn't live without my collection of brightly coloured bags and I strongly suggest you get your hands on some too.

The Scarf
A colourful or patterned scarf will for sure change your entire look. Whether you wear it tied around your neck, as a belt, or as a head wrap, you'll get lots of use out of these little guys. Scarves are a great way to add some spice to an ordinary outfit--choose a chunky knit for added texture, patterns for sass, reds and yellows for an added burst of colour. Scarves aren't only fashionable but they also keep you nice and toasty at this time of the year. What could be better?
