Make a Statement [Coat]
Well one thing is for sure, it is definitely cold enough to wear coats here in Scotland. As someone who is always cold, it is vital for me to have warm winter coats to wear. However, I also always want to look cute so this season, statement coats have become my go-to.
If you’re outside, your coat often becomes the only piece of clothing
people see—perfect when you’re not in the mood to wear anything more exciting
than jeans and a tee, but not so great when you want to show off a cute
outfit. They draw (the good kind of) attention to your outfit, and make
you stand out from the crowd. I can't bear to look like everyone else!
Winter weather means layers, warmth and comfy outfits; it means that it's
harder not to let my style go completely out the window and find myself happily
hiding away in a knitted jumper every day; and it also means that my obsession
with sassy outerwear comes out in full force, and there's just no stopping
it...
When its drab outside, I love to make a statement with my coats. A
statement coat in a beautiful color brightens up any dreariness you may be
seeing outside.
This leopard print number is just perfect! I have been wearing it non-stop since I got it. What I love about it is how it is loud, but not too loud. the print is muted which keeps a coat that can sometimes look cheap into something so classy.
I love pairing this coat with red as you can see here. It just seems to go
perfectly with the rich brown of the print.
This total bargain of a coat my sister found last week is the cutest, fluffiest coat I have ever seen. I'm obsessed and more than slightly annoyed she found it before me!
This coat perfectly finishes off any look and is unbelievably cosy, as you can expect from a coat as teddybear-like as this.
Can I just add that isn't my sister just so stylish?! The red looks fab with the pale, dusky pink. (It would make the perfect Valentine's Day outfit!)
Statement coats are amazing for this time of year, however, if you are looking to buy a statement coat, here are some things to consider first;
A statement coat is usually bold, so what if you don’t want
to wear it all the time? Do you want to spend that much money? It might not go with every outfit! Would you be better off
shopping at a lower end retailer, so I don’t waste money on a piece you won’t
wear that often? But you also want a good quality coat that will last you a
long time...
