The Art of Layering

Welcome to my blog!  It is now that time when winter is turning into spring and one of my favourite things about this time of year has to be layering clothes. So thought I would dedicate this post to the style.

My first tip is, if it's big up top, go skinny on the bottom half of your body, vice versa. It is always lovely to wear layer after layer of turtle-necks, jumpers and jackets but you don't want to over do it with some wide leg trousers and end up looking completely shapeless. It's definitely best to opt for skinny trousers, jeans or even a skirt just to even out your look a bit.

My next tip is that a monochrome turtle-neck will work under almost anything. I always think adding a black polo underneath a patterned top adds a certain edge to a look. It  looks so trendy but also keeps you nice and toasty during the colder months.

Thirdly, there is no need to pack away your dresses from the summer. It is a great idea to pair a thin patterned dress with a pair of jeans or trousers to get full use of your summer dresses. This looks surprisingly classy and makes for a very interesting style.

A white shirt, just like the beloved black turtle neck is a definite must have for any wardrobe. It goes with everything; ender a dress, paired with jeans or trousers or under a blazer. There are just endless ways to wear this item of clothing.

And, finally, use a belt to hold your layers together and nip you in at the waste. It can add more definition to a mass of layers and is way more flattering than looking like an Eskimo tbh!

I hope this helped anyone who had any queries about the concept of layering!
