My Skincare Routine
Today,
I’m so excited to finally be sharing my latest everyday skincare routine, a
post that is long overdue. I owe y’all all the details on what products I use
and how I take care of my skin every day!
My Skin Type
But, before getting into my morning and evening skin care
routines, which will always be a little bit different, let me share a little
bit about my skin type. I think my skin has mostly always been dry to combination
skin. My forehead and chin have always been a tad oily and everywhere else is dry/normal.
I’ve always experienced the occasional breakout, especially along my chin which
has left a constant redness and a slightly uneven skin tone, and now my
forehead since I got my fringe cut in (at least you can’t see those!) But, I have
to say, my skin is a lot better than it once was, and despite the occasional flare
up, I am very happy with how my skin has been recently.
Morning Routine
I don't have a very extensive morning skincare routine as my evening one has quite a few steps, in fact, my morning routine consists of only one product. This magical Purifying Gel Cleanser from Bravura. My face always feel amazingly clean when I use this with a waffle flannel and it is the perfect product to use in the morning as it leaves no redness, only a beautiful clean glow. Bravura London is one of my go-to skincare brands as my mum has used them for years and trusts them completely. What I love about this brand is how personal it is, as you can actually email the owner of the brand and discuss what products would be best for you. Plus most of their products are vegan friendly!
Evening Routine
1. The first thing I do after a long day of wearing makeup is wash it off with Simple's Micellar Water. This stuff is incredible as it will literally take off every last bit of you makeup. This product is great for sensitive skin as it is light and has no scent making it perfect for washing off your eye makeup after a night out!
2. To make sure I have got rid of every tiny bit of makeup and gunk off my face and out of my pores, I go ahead a use this Clean&Clear Exfoliating Face Wash. I feel that this really helps prevent black heads and leaves me with baby-soft skin.
3. The next product I use, is also from Bravura London; the Salicylic Acid 2% Peel. This serum is honestly the best skincare product I have come across in my life. I generally use this every other day, in rotation with the other Bravura product I will mention next. Just use the fan brush that comes with it and spread all over your face, or just your problem areas if you prefer, then wash it off after a minute or so and you will see the results within a day. This is great for bad breakouts and really helps with acne scarring and redness. However, I should also warn that it is advised to stay out of sunlight and use SPF when sing this as it makes your skin sensitive to UV light.
4. Now for my final Bravura London product! The 15% Glycolic Acid Detoxification Gel - again, a major skin saviour. I only use this on days I don't use the serum, as if I used both, the acidity could irritate my skin. Although, if my skin is going through a particularly bad patch I may use both. This gel works really well to prevent pimples and helps amazingly with blemishes and redness (for example, on my chin).
5. When my skin gets really dry (quite often!) I find that the Glossier Moisturizing Moon Mask does just the trick. I leave it on for around an hour, until it is pretty much dry and then wash it off. I make sure to wash it off, as it is a mask not a moisturiser so would clog up my pores. I would totally recommend this product if you a susceptible to dry skin.
6. The Nivea Daily Essentials Rich Regenerating Night Cream is one that I use every day, just as I get into bed. I wait until the Bravura Gel is completely dry if I am using that, before I apply this. I only apply this to my checks and chin, NEVER my forehead and nose as it would clog up my pores and make those parts of my face even oilier. This night cream very much helps to keep my skin feeling soft, bouncy and moisturized (plus it's cheap!).
I hope you found this useful and will invest in some of these amazing products. Thanks for popping over and do come and say hey over on my Twitter and Instagram.
